How Bad Do You Want It?

The question: HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT?
The answer: REAL BAD
Now that's Dedication

Enough to make a really strange face and push to the finish line. Recently I have heard many great things about the NBA finals. My dad writes me each week and gives me an update on how the games turn out. Each have been very close, going down to the wire. At the buzzer the games are one or lost. I for one love this kind of play, for its speed, intensity, and exciting finish. The question for each of these players remains, HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT?

If you can think back to a few years ago, Dwayne was injured. Lebron could not bring his team to win the NBA finals, although he could get them there. Chris Bosch was consistent, but stuck on a team that was not progressing. On the Mavs, Jason Kid was getting old. Dirk had come so close to winning it all, only to loose by a remarkable finish from the heat. There desire was deeper. The question that drives each of these players is how much they want to win the ring. It would have been easy for each of these players to quit, to say they had accomplished great things already, who needs a ring? In our lives we may face many challenges, but the difference between a win and a loose lies deep in our hearts. I was asked this question on my mission, and it helped me have greater desire to do more. Our desires shape our priority's, which shape our choice and actions, which make us who we are. I was asked a very good question not to long ago by a man I know. He asked why should I keep trying to live the gospel if I just slip up and fall each time I make the effort. I thought of my life, how I make mistakes and fall often. I learned that if we make a continual effort, if we put all our heart into it, we can change by living his gospel daily. I prayed sincerely with great effort, for help to conquer a trial, and it came, I was able to change. Some times we may grow tired, feel week, think we may not have what it takes to finish. The temptation would be to believe we will never win the ring, gain eternal life. If that is how you feel, think again. All of us are his children, with the possibility to return to him again some day by living his gospel. I know his gospel is true, for I have tested it myself. As I turned to him in faith, cry for help, I have felt power beyond my own to conquer my trials. He ask to all of us, "what is it that ye desire of me." He grants what we desire the most, if we ask in faith according to his will. May we have the faith to turn to him with our problems, resolve them and become like him, living his gospel, that we may achieve the ring, the greatest gift of all, eternal life. May our greatest desire be to become like him, live with him again.
