Brother Bear was a movie that I really enjoyed. It begins with a man named Kenai, who seeks revenge from the bear that killed his brother. On the accomplishment of the task, Kenai is magically transformed into a bear himself. He meets Dakota, a young cub in search of his mother. As they reach the bear paradise where the bears come every month, Dakota slowly realizes his mother will not be coming this year. Kenai tells Dakota that killing his mother was not right, he pleads for forgiveness. The two become the best of friends in the end as Dakota learns to forgive, and Kenai learns to forget. In the end they find what they were always looking for, brothers. Rage and revenge are never the answer, for everyone loses and the end, both the seeker and victims are harmed. I once met a man that could never forgive himself for the things he had done in the past. I know that forgiveness and repentance are real, that there fruits are sweet, replacing guilt and shame with peace and joy. When we do something wrong we can always repent, seek forgiveness.
When speaking about his Atonement, Jesus said " I, God, have suffered these thing for all, that they might not suffer if they would repent."
Tor
repent we stop doing the things that are wrong, continue doing the things that are right. We access the Atonement through repentance and receive mercy on the conditions of repentance.
When we repent, we are forgive. Though we may fall again, the Saviors atonement is available to everyone at all times. He forgives us
as often as we sincerely repent. I testify that Jesus is the Savior of the world. I know that by following his gospel, we can become
clean, thus preparing our self for life again with him.
