| TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood, | |
| And sorry I could not travel both | |
| And be one traveler, long I stood | |
| And looked down one as far as I could | |
| To where it bent in the undergrowth; | 5 |
| |
| Then took the other, as just as fair, | |
| And having perhaps the better claim, | |
| Because it was grassy and wanted wear; | |
| Though as for that the passing there | |
| Had worn them really about the same, | 10 |
| |
| And both that morning equally lay | |
| In leaves no step had trodden black. | |
| Oh, I kept the first for another day! | |
| Yet knowing how way leads on to way, | |
| I doubted if I should ever come back. | 15 |
| |
| I shall be telling this with a sigh | |
| Somewhere ages and ages hence: | |
| Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— | |
| I took the one less traveled by, | |
| And that has made all the difference. | 20 |
In life there will always be opposition. There will always be choices to make when faced with opposisiton. One of my favorite movies growing up was cars. In the beginning of the movie, Lightning McQueen is on top of his game. With only one race left in the season, he is on the verge of wining it all, claiming all the glory that comes with being a champion. Out of nowhere it seems his life changes quickly. In a new place, a small town far different from what he is use to, Lightning begins to transform into a new car. The sheriff of Radiator Springs tells of his life story, which touches Lightning deeply. He learns there is more to life than just trophy's, fame, glory. He learns to be a true friend. He later returns to finish the final race, but at the finish line turns back, goes to help someone in need who had crashed. Lightning McQueen chose the road less traveled, forsook the path which he thought would bring him greatest joy to help someone in need. Jesus said "Whosoever will save his life shall loose it, but he that lose his life for my sake shall save it. What profit a man if he gain the whole world, and lose his own soul."(Mark 8:34-35) The heart of a champion is developed in humility, being teachable, and a desire to folow christ. When we follow Christ we loose our self in service, take the road less traveled, coming back to him. |
